Lao Chu gets hooked on a superhero fanfic series whose author is anonymous.

This fic was inspired by comments on china_shop's brilliantly hilarious fic "Transformative Work", and will make more sense if you read that one first.

Guo Changcheng is very confused about how he ended up here.
Admittedly, Guo Changcheng is confused on a daily basis, and this state of things didn’t change much after he had joined Captain Zhao’s crew. If asked, Guo Changcheng would even (in a surprising bout of honesty and courage) say that his confusion intensified in frequency after he had been first put on the The Lord Guardian.

Chu Shuzhi begins his morning the same way every day. Starting at 5am with a 6 mile run, stopping in a neighborhood park for some standard strength training, and finishing back at the apartment for a simple breakfast of poached eggs and rice.

When an exhausted Shen Wei nods off on Zhao Yunlan's couch, Zhao Yunlan knows exactly what to do.

The little ghost king Kunlun is raising is strong, of course, but he fights like a brute. Kunlun tries to train him to have some semblance of technique but it usually devolves into a different sort of fighting.

Sex, it devolves to sex. But you can’t blame Lord Kunlun for being taken in by the little ghost king’s wiles. He’s innocent, truly.

When a tomb created by Shen Wei nearly gets robbed, Zhao Yunlan goes to investigate and meets a man with Shen Wei's face but none of his personality. They need to work together in order to stop whoever wants what's in the tomb from getting it. However, it is a Wu Xie tomb raiding adventure, so it goes just as well as expected. They stop the bad guy though!
