This week was the first week for Guardian Bingo prompts with the prompt word Pride.

Sometime after the events of "Heart Fire," Ye Huo, Chu Shuzhi, and Guo Changcheng are sent to Dixing to help with a reported outbreak of Youchu.

Tucked away in a corner of Florida, there's a tower block that among anything else, isn't that physically beautiful or well built, but the oddly sized apartments are cheap to live in, and the tenants are as expected, so bit different from your average Florida man. Where else would there be a unified group of introverts, the laziest local Pd imaginable, a coffee shop run by a narcissistic owner, and a bunch of weirdos?

Oh yeah, they're all American Chinese too, which means the arguments tend to be in mandarin as well as English. It's mad in the unlucky block, absolutely crackers!

Boya hates his neighbor for being happy, Zhan Yao can't stand his exercise addicted neighbor and his all night training, and Shen Wei has no issue with his fellow resident, unless obliviousness counts as a probable cause for concern. They all drink far too much overpriced coffee, think about revenge too much, yet somewhere along those lines they learn to live with each other.

The roaming love in the warm winter.

There was no point in coming home early, just as there was no point in going home at all. Now, alone there, Zhao Yunlan thought about that and how he had been so angry about the situation for so long that he hadn't even tried to figure out how his spouse's embrace and kiss felt.
His spouse. Not anymore.
He was gone away.
Not because he said he wanted to leave, but because Zhao Yunlan had told him to go. He had told Shen Wei that that damn deal between their families was stupid and that Shen Wei should go away and have his own life, because here, where he hadn't chosen to be, he would never have anything to call happiness. But now Zhao Yunlan wondered if he might not have tried to find some happiness with the spouse who was once his. Perhaps it was his fault more than anyone else's for all the tears he had seen Shen Wei shed.

How many times had Shen Wei stopped to listen to music in the streets and alleys of that city? How many times had he chosen to sit for coffee in a place where he could hear the musicians playing? And enhance that nostalgia a little more with poetic melody.

His mind kept wandering to everything and nothing at the same time wondering now what could have gone differently.

Zhao Yunlan comes to a stop, eyes on Shen Wei. “That’s why the cover is a married couple. The reason I’m asking you is because there are no other options for people to go undercover with.”

Shen Wei scoffs to give himself an excuse to look away. “You certainly know how to flatter someone, Zhao Yunlan.”

Zhao Yunlan shouldn't have stopped to talk to the paramedics - that was his first thought when he rounded the corner. The second, spoken aloud, was, "Professor Shen. Why is it you again?"
