“Oh?” Kunlun couldn't believe the audacity of that ordinary thing to dismiss him and not even thank him for his concern. “What kind of thing are you that you don't even have a bit of courtesy?”

Zhao Yunlan thought that there was something very wrong with him for being so allured by Wu Xie and his partner, by the relationship they had... and he didn't even know Shen Wei in person. He thought he had done a lot of ridiculous things in his life, but falling in love with a couple is the worst of them.

Shen Wei often found himself marveling at the thought: he had a real life. He was delighted with every thing about that house, about his new life. Some of his paintings, less personal than what only Wu Xie knew, now also began to appear on the walls of the house - landscapes, flowers, birds. It took a lot of encouragement from Wu Xie for Shen Wei to be confident about decorating the place with the art he made himself. He was still shy about it, but he was satisfied somehow.

After settling in Longcheng, the cold weather that sets in reminds Shen Wei and Wu Xie of how they once breathed together. And maybe it promises them that they will still be there when time passes, appreciating what they never wish they had let go.

Working at the SID, Wu Xie faces the memories in silence. Memories of the one who forgot him and everything he once meant.

Nonetheless, Shen Wei persisted. “I don’t believe I receive any bonus, so you can’t take it from me,” he said drily.

“No, I was just going to say, it’s for research! You appreciate that, right?!”

Shen Wei was not going to start this argument again. The fact of Kunlun regaining his powers had, somehow, given him a thirst for testing out how mountain god capabilities interacted with modern technology.

Of all the things Shen San would like to know about the brother demon, he doesn't always ask. But his heart seems broken by love and not by the lack of it. Perhaps there is a story that can be revealed, a memory that still remains.

In which the Guardian team lends a hand for a mystery Wu Xie still wonders about.

In a rush, as though afraid he won't be able to get the words out if he doesn't do it all at once, Shen Wei says, "I thought I saw Gui Mian…in the surveillance footage from Hangzhou."

"This is definitely your fault," Wu Xie glares at Pangzi.
"What? Slander! It's you they're asking about, how does that make it my fault?" Pangzi asks.
"You were the one complaining two weeks ago about how boring things have been. You definitely jinxed us." 

Like everyone in Longcheng, Zhao Yunlan grew up hearing stories of the dragon whose body encircled the city. Most of them said that Longcheng’s prosperity—and isolated safety from the demons that were said to haunt the mainland—were due to the dragon’s guardianship, which made sense; why else would the city be named as it was? There was nothing particularly draconic about the city, nor any mountain or lake shaped like a dragon’s face. It must be named in thanksgiving, or so the legends went.

Still, it was one thing to hear the stories.

It was quite another to meet them face-to-face.

Shen Wei, Wu Xie and Zhao Yunlan have a talk about the thunder and how Wu Xie actually lost his soulfire.

Zhao Yunlan was never lucky in love before. When he finally found 'The One' it just so happens that this person was an ancient demon who eats attraction and love. A 'Heart Eater' as some books call them.

But what if the Heart Eater falls in love with him too?
Will the demon be able to let go of Zhao Yunlan to save his life? Or will he devour the Chief of SID whole until his very soul gets snuffed out?
