Zhao Yunlan is the captain of the sky-ship Guardian. More accustomed to trading runs, he and his crew are given a mission -- to track down the stolen Hallows, with the assistance of Shen Wei, a seemingly-innocuous clerk from Dragon City...

Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan survive Ye Zun's attack on Haixing. Exactly how they survive is a secret Shen Wei finds himself incapable of sharing in the confusion that follows their return, as Dragon City tries to get a handle on a number of passages that have opened up between the worlds, and Ye Zun's supporters turn to violence to prevent a return to the status quo. Escalating crises barely leave time for Shen Wei to process the changes that the events in Dixing mean for his and Zhao Yunlan's relationship. As it turns out, though, open communication is an integral part of collaborating effectively to save two worlds, so they have some catching up to do.

When Shen Wei goes missing, Zhao Yunlan didn't expect that it would end with a new addition to their family.
