Centuries after the Second Great War, the portal between Haixing and Dixing has reopened once more. Shen Wei gets infected by a mysterious energy, making him fatally ill. The cure is simple, but it will have a big price for his relationship with Zhao Yunlan and Shen Wei would rather die than jeapordize that. But Zhao Yunlan disagrees.

He’s never seen Shen Wei look this completely ruined. Drunk, yes, tired, absolutely, but covered in filth, his clothes torn, and his wrists and neck bloody from fighting against chains? Never.

The sad fact is that most Dixingren don't like Zhao Yunlan, or the SID, all that much. When they turn up it's usually because something bad has happened, and sometimes it's because a Dixingren has done something, and maybe it's not part of the job to suspect all Dixingren around, but sometimes it definitely feels like it is.

He knows that Dragon City University has a dragon for a professor. The University makes sure everyone knows, it's a point of pride and all. Zhao Yunlan just really didn't expect to meet him like this.

Yunlan Zhao paused in scrolling through the girl's phone, lollipop paused halfway from his mouth.

Zhu Hong who was in the room with him stopped her writing taken aback by the blunt reply her red lipstick-covered lips left open-mouthed in shock.

The girl who said her actual name was Qiuyue Zhao huffed leaning forward on her elbows. These old farts were getting on her nerves. "Come on is it not that obvious, this strange-looking watch on my wrist, the way I know things I shouldn't know, my truck equally weird-looking phone that looked like it came out of Star Trek and knowing where you were going to go. How is that not telling you that I'm from the future?"

After getting a chance at meeting and seeing her fathers again in their prime before she was born, Qiuyue Zhao finds herself transported back in time along with her boyfriend Zinc and her guardian Guoliang.

Shen Wei and Zhao Yunlan face the unpleasant prospect of two single beds.

10 thousand years ago, Dixing found a comatose Hei Pao Shi.

10 thousand years later, Dixing is flourishing.

Yunlan finds a secret beneath Dixing that could ruin Dixing forever.

"Yunlan..." Hei Lao Ge moans around his lips, the low voice making Zhao Yunlan feel even hotter. But no, his body is lifting away from him, and his lips leave Zhao Yunlan's.

Zhao Yunlan instantly wakes up from his hazy state, wide eyes staring straight into the other man's: "Hei Lao Ge...?"

The Black-Cloaked Envoy's eyelashes flutter rapidly like he is trying to make sense of himself: "What are we doing here...?"

Zhao Yunlan blinks back at him: "...Kissing?" Well okay, the ruined lips in front of him prove that this is more like...biting? He doesn't know, honestly.

The tomb proves to be an easier ride than Shen Wei originally thought. But the murals tell a story Shen Wei isn't sure he wants to know. Or remember it all.
