Fusheng’s panicked mind is flooded with hopeful relief – so maybe he does have some older, less than ideal brothers, maybe Bai Qi didn’t succeed on the first try, but he’s stopped after Fusheng. The cursed investor keeps on talking.
“Ah, yes, I remember. The original found out,” he remarks, his words cutting like knives aimed at Bai Qi.
Fusheng feels them burrow in his own heart instead.

The Replicant couldn’t’ve gotten far. Security footage shows the android lithely dropping down out of an open window and then limping out of an alleyway to mix with the crowd. They lose track of him around the first residential district, but it gives an idea of where he’s headed – likely further into the center of the city, perhaps to get off-planet.

Han Chen is in the hovercar when he gets a call on his terminal. Debating on whether to answer or not, he finally sighs and presses the button to accept the call.

“You’re busy,” Jing Ran says, a question that isn’t a question.

Changcheng gets lost in Dixing.

“So like every career man then, I thought you would approve,” Bai Qi replied in a perfectly neutral tone.
Jing Ran turned to the right slowly, levelling his ex-husband with a disappointed look.
