At something of a loose end without Zhao Yunlan to play with, Ye Zun makes his way to the middle and finds his brother there.
Both the unexcepted opportunity and his brother's wrist are seized with the speed of a striking viper... and similar results.

"That was DCPD," Wang Zheng says. "A missing person matching our last ID has just been reported – from Dragon City University, a Professor Shen Wei."

The university faculty has an informal teambuilding where they and their partners go axe throwing, thinking it's a first for everyone. Shen Wei looks good pretending he can't hit a fly with an axe from a ridiculous distance, and Zhao Yunlan thirsts while watching.

Zhao Yunlan sits awkwardly on the side of their bed, his back to Ye Zun, who's sitting on the other side of the bed. He can feel Ye Zun's eyes at the back of his neck. Instead of turning to look he looks down at his hands, awkwardly rubbing them together because he needs to do something with them.

It's five thousand years without dreaming, because he can' t sleep. To begin with, he has no eyes, no fucking body, he is confined energy, oppressed in that damned pillar.
