Shen Wei jerks awake to find himself horizontal and surprisingly refreshed. His body hurts, his energy is depleted, but he’s in a bed, and the sheets smell of Zhao Yunlan.

An old enemy catches up with Zhao Yunlan, but they don't account for Shen Wei.

There's a fizz of dark energy in the air and Shen Wei can hear Zhao Yunlan's heart racing. He approaches the bed, then stops abruptly. Blinks, and blinks again.

"Uh, hi?" Zhao Yunlan says.

A long, clear green tentacle waves sheepishly at Shen Wei.

Ye Zun was so tired of the limelight, he wanted an escape. So one day, he left, leaving all the responsibility to his identical twin brother Shen Wei.

"You’ve cursed me, Xiao Wei,” teases Yunlan. “I’ll never be able to get a date with you at my side.”
Good, thinks a vicious part of Shen Wei. The same part of him growls at the thought of anyone else touching his Yunlan. Outwardly he keeps his face neutral, flicking an unamused glance at Yunlan that makes the man laugh.
“Ah, perhaps it’s not so bad.” He throws his arm around Shen Wei’s shoulders and it’s all he can do not to pull Yunlan into him and envelop him. “At least I get to be with professor Shen. We’ll just have to be single together, huh?”
Privately, Shen Wei thinks that he has a much better solution, but he very carefully keeps it to himself.

In Episode 8, after Shen Wei finds Zhao Yunlan sick on the street, he takes him home to take care of him. This is what would have happened if Da Qing did not interrupt, and if Shen Wei did not have lessons. At this point in the series, Zhao Yunlan is unaware of Shen Wei's real identity.

On a nighttime hike with Da Qing, Zhao Yunlan comes across a beautiful gray-haired man who's been buried alive. Problem is, he's Dixingian, and thus not supposed to be on the surface. And the only way the SID has of dealing with Dixingians is murder.
