Post-canon.

After their unfortunate deaths, Shen Wei formulates a plan to help Ye Zun before he becomes a force of darkness. Zhao Yunlan is reincarnated in the distant past as Kunlun, while the brothers send him dreams from the vale of what is to come.

Kunlun is suddenly overwhelmed with an eager and very forward Shen Wei trying to kiss him.

One day, after one drink too many, Zhao Yunlan can no longer take his eyes boring into him so fiercely, “Don’t look at me like that.”

Somehow, his eyes focus on him even harder, as if Shen Wei can’t see anything besides him, “Like what?”

His heart is beating so hard, he’s scared it’ll jump right out of his chest. Time stills, he stops breathing, and the words drop out of his mouth before he can stop them, “Like you love me.”

“What the fuck?” Zhao Yunlan rasps out.

His own eyes stare back at him, but they’re not his. They’re so different, their natural playful spark entirely gone, replaced by steel and cold. Shen Wei, with Zhao Yunlan’s hand and arm and body, stretches out a cup of coffee in front of himself, offering it to Zhao Yunlan.

“We need to talk.”

Enjoying a cruel little grin, Zhao Yunlan heads to the annoyingly expensive restaurant where Shen Wei is waiting.

Shuzhi shakes his head once, twice, lets his gaze travel from the Professors face to the wall behind his head, before it eventually rests on the floor. Shen Wei had always been alone, his younger brother’s companionship doesn’t count but being the Ambassador of the Realms and a university professor at the same time had certainly been tiring. When the principal and his vice principal had suddenly throw this job onto him after the teacher in charge suddenly goes on a three month vacation. He can’t find himself to refuse.

As he lies in bed, recovering from an attack and surrounded by the small children that are fast asleep from worrying and crying, he couldn’t help but reflect back the moments he shared with these unique children who, in the future, will form the Special Investigation Department to carry on his beliefs.
