Short Guardian/Star Trek fusion AU:

Zhao Yunlan is a sassy devil-may care human star ship captain, and Shen Wei is a mysterious Vulcan envoy. Memories! Time travel! True love! Confusion! Evil twins! Possibly even pon farr, who the hell knows?

It's the Black Cloaked Envoy and the SID team IN SPACE! Set your phasers to slash, kids!

(I'm guessing there will be three or four chapters in total - don't know what rating we're looking at, tbh.)

NOTE: ooooh shit, this was just supposed to be a quick vignettey thing with possibly kissing or indeed porn, but, uh - it seems to be developing a bit of a life of its own, so I am absolutely winging this in terms of plot, & I may find that I need to go back and edit a trifle to make plotty/worldbuildy things hang together. Please accept my apologies (and do feel free to point out errors of spelling/typos).

When he runs into him at the baths, purely by chance, the first thing Shen Wei notices about him is how gracefully he moves, and he tells himself not to stare. But Shen Wei is alone in the dark doorway leading from the showers to the pools—all the other bathers have come earlier than Shen Wei—so there’s nobody to see him, and he can’t quite restrain himself.

Shen Wei tries to stand up from the cold, hard pavement he is lying on. When he does, he realizes there is barely any height difference between standing up and lying down. He looks down and his breath stutters in shock and confusion.

Zhao Yunlan starts remembering his life as Kunlun months after he first entered the world and his only clue resides on that creature (because his adult brain is now telling his baby brain that that wasn't a human) robed in white with a golden mask peering down on his crib.

He dropped his head on Shen Wei's shoulder, heavy—asleep before Shen Wei even could respond, and as he slept Shen Wei risked putting one arm around him.

Shen Wei mutters about how it’s not actually his birthday, his rebirth from the Guardian Lamp doesn’t actually count, that this is completely ridiculous, but his hands are steady as he slides his fingers under the rope to make sure there’s enough give.

And no matter what he claims Zhao Yunlan can see how his gaze is eager and hungry.

"It grows barely at all in Dixing," Shen Wei said. "The drug's always been too rare to cause more than very occasional issues."
"I'd love to strangle whoever thought to bring some up to Haixing," Zhao Yunlan said, grimly.

The SID are tracking down suppliers of a lethal Dixing drug. Haixingren are supposed to be immune. Zhao Yunlan, however, manages to be a special case.
