Zhao Yunlan throws his head back, his eyes squeeze shut, panting heavily. He uses his hand to cover the lewd embarrassing sounds that keep spilling out of his mouth. Zhao Yunlan gasps, his hips bucking up from the couch, thrusting deeply into the tight wet throat around him. He does not dare to look and does not think he is allowed to look. If he does, he may just come right on the spot.

In which Shen Wei loses the love of his life.

When a supernatural crime happens in Dragon City, unwritten rules are to be respected. A murder investigation on a vampire coven's turf, for instance, should be reported to said coven's patriarch.

When Zhao Yunlan follows exactly that rule, patriarch Shen Wei decides to join the hunt for the responsible monster. Is it merely out of a sense of duty as he claims, or does he have other reasons?

It’s an unfortunate side-effect of his survival. The migraines. Fortunately Shen Wei is used to being hurt… right up until he isn’t anymore.

Luckily though, he also isn’t alone. Shen Wei is never alone. Not anymore.

In the course of an entirely normal murder investigation Zhao Yunlan ends up watching a video that tells him he's going to die in three days time.

"You know, from the first time I met you, I had this feeling - a sense that there was something more to us, something I was missing." Zhao Yunlan grinned. "I had no idea how much more."
